ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Monica Meerwarth Fernsell, a watercolor artist with a deep love for capturing the quiet beauty of the natural world.

Painting has always been more than a passion for me, it’s a way to slow down, to breathe, and to see the world with softer eyes. From early childhood doodles to now exhibiting with the Florida Watercolor Society (and receiving their Healing Arts Purchase Award), my journey has always been about honoring those small, fleeting moments that often go unnoticed.

Each painting begins with a feeling, sunlight dancing through trees, the stillness of morning water, the way shadows move across a wall. Through watercolor, I try to bottle that emotion so that when you hang it in your space, it brings a sense of calm and connection to nature every time you see it.

When someone tells me one of my paintings makes them feel peaceful, nostalgic, or inspired, that’s when I know I’ve done my job.
